Unveiling: My 2024 Skincare Trends

Cue the Mariah Carey ~It’s tiiiime~ While everyone else is prepping for the holidays, I’m prepping for the new year! I love to keep up to date on the latest and greatest when it comes to skincare, and sharing it with you is one of my favorite parts.
So, without further ado, here are the trends I think are about to be big for the world of skincare in the year to come:

4 Skincare Trends For 2024

2024 is just around the corner, and I am *so* ready to welcome the new year with open arms.  With the new year, comes new trends.

Whether you are looking to refresh your routine or you’re just interested to hear what people will be talking about on TikTok in terms of skincare next year {& no, I don’t recommend skincare TikTok}, here are 4 skincare trends I’m predicting will be big.

Glass Skin

The days of dry, matte skin are fully behind us this year. With the rise of the glass skin trend, we are embracing skincare as makeup and letting our fully hydrated skin shine through. Glass skin is a term for the exceptionally smooth, even-toned, and super-hydrated skin look.

Through the use of layering on a number of different hydrating products, you can achieve the appearance of *glass skin*. This is where the skin looks so luminous and crystal clear that it resembles a piece of glass. I love this trend because it allows you to worry less about makeup application and more about fully hydrating your skin, which is going to do wonders for your skin in the long run.

Hyaluronic Acid

If you want to achieve the perfect *glass skin look* I recommend starting with some supercharged hydrating products. One of my favorite ingredients for hydration without leaving your skin feeling overpowered with heavy creams is hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is light and able to penetrate the skin deeply, allowing your skin to be fully hydrated and leaving you with the dewy glow that is oh-so-important for the glass skin trend.

If you’re looking for a serum that will work wonders for hydration and dewiness, the Pure Hydration serum will absorb into your skin easily, allowing the water retention benefits of hyaluronic acid to work fast in providing hydration and keeping the skin supple. Since this serum is so light, it can easily be layered with other products and moisturizers to keep the hydration effects noticeable. I find myself reaching for the Amino-Peptide Moisturizer, this light moisturizer will glide easily onto the skin and trap valuable moisture on the surface of the skin for a noticeably hydrated look.

Monthly Facials

To boost hydration even more, while also enjoying some relaxation, booking a monthly facial can be a great option. At Gameela Skin, we offer facials designed to infuse the skin with nourishing ingredients and valuable hydration, allowing you to walk out feeling refreshed and glowing.

Skinamilism

In 2024, we’re embracing simplicity and *skinamilism*. This trend is pretty much exactly what it sounds like.

It’s a take on minimalism, which is a style or technique of simplifying your life and reducing the number of things you own to avoid clutter and buildup of items you may not need.

Skinamilism is very similar, involving reducing down to the essentials in your skincare routine {incorporating those that are important and that will provide the most benefit}.

People no longer have time for a 10-step skincare routine. With skinamilism, efficiency is key, as is finding products that are multifunctional and will provide great benefits with minimal effort. This includes products that can be used in the AM and PM, as well as skincare items that can double as makeup.

Top Products For Skinamilism

SPF should *never* be cut from your routine. A tinted SPF allows you to skip foundation while also getting protection from the sun’s harmful UV rays. One of my favorite 2-in-1 products is Jane Iredale’s Powder-Me SPF. This weightless, dry, SPF 30 broad-spectrum sunscreen can be worn alone or applied over makeup, providing a finished look.

In the same vein, tinted lip balm is another product that can provide you with a glowy lip while also allowing moisturizing ingredients to be absorbed into your lips with each application. This Jane Iredale LipDrink not only provides you with a light-colored, dewy lip, but it also contains SPF to protect your lips from the harmful effects of the sun.

Accessible Skincare Tools

In 2024, we’re taking some of our spa favorites home with us. Enter, the accessible skincare tool era.

You shouldn’t have to wait for your monthly facial to get the benefits of lymphatic drainage or a face mask.

Small tools, like Gameela Skin’s mask application brush, can make your weekly face mask a whole *spa experience*. The benefits of using these tools at home are endless. For example, a mask application brush provides a more hygienic application AND minimal product waste.

Another favorite that I’ll add to this list: Cold Rollers! These spa-inspired tools are great for reducing inflammation and puffiness and can be used daily to keep your skin looking fresh and healthy.

Men’s Skincare

I feel like men’s skincare was trending WAY before 2024. My male client list is growing and I am SO proud. More and more men are starting to understand the importance of daily skincare and SPF application. {& more are realizing that skincare is not just for women}

The rise of products like SPF moisturizers and even SPF aftershave are allowing men to easily incorporate SPF into their morning routines, and see the benefits of protecting their skin from the sun’s rays. Hello, anti-aging!

At Gameela Skin, we offer an assortment of services and products for men. To name a few: Custom facials for men and waxing! Many {if not all} of our skincare products work great for all skin types, including men!
