If you find yourself trying to craft the perfect brow shape day in and day out {they do frame the face, after all}, I have the solution for you.

Brow lamination! It’s the perfect solution to your eyebrow struggles, AND it lasts about six weeks so now is the perfect time to get your brows done for all of the special events coming up this season.

What Is Brow Lamination?

Brow lamination is like a perm for your eyebrows. Instead of setting the hair into a permanent curl {as you would typically think of a perm}, it will set your brows into a uniform shape that will appear fuller and more defined. Need I say more?

The lamination process is pretty simple.

Step #1 of Brow Lamination:

At Gameela Skin, I’ll start your lamination with a brow wax and shape, to ensure all stray hairs are removed before your treatment. I’ll then cleanse the skin and protect it with a skin barrier cream. {The skin barrier cream will soothe any red or irritated skin}. A permanent gel is then applied, and set with a piece of saran wrap.

Step #2 of Brow Lamination:

After removing the permanent gel, a neutralizing cream is applied. This works to repair any broken bonds from step one and will help set a new direction of hair growth into place. During this step, I will shape the brows, & make sure you *love* how they look. I’ll then set them with another piece of saran wrap to ensure they stay in place.

Step #3 of Brow Lamination:

The final step in the brow lamination process will be applying the Regenerating cream to replenish any of the moisture that was lost during the service. This cream does leave a glaze on the brows and will need to stay on the brows for 24 hours.

Benefits of Eyebrow Lamination

Brow lamination is an easy, low-maintenance way to achieve perfect brows on the daily.

While other procedures, like microblading, can also leave your brows perfectly arched and colored, they are more invasive. With brow lamination, you don’t have to worry about needles, numbing, or downtime. The lamination process only affects the hair, and won’t irritate the skin around your brows.

Brow lamination also saves time; you don’t have to worry about taking the time to do your perfect soap brow to achieve a laminated look. Instead, you’ll have the ease of brushing your brows up with a Spoolie and having them set into the laminated look on their own.

Benefits of Eyebrow Tinting

Eyebrow tinting is a common process that can be done alongside your lamination treatment to provide a darker and more luscious appearance without makeup.

While tinting the brows is popular for those with light-colored eyebrows {as they will notice the most dramatic difference}, tinting the eyebrows can provide *anyone* with thicker, darker-looking brows.

Similar to a brow lamination, brow tinting allows for a low-maintenance look. The brow tint process involves selecting the desired tint color {with my guidance}, applying it to the brows, and allowing it to sit on the brows for about 10-minutes.

How Often to Get Brow Lamination

Brow lamination will last about 6-8 weeks. With that said, to maintain a perfectly arched and fluffed look around the year round, I recommend making an appointment to get your brow lamination refreshed every 6 weeks.
How Long Will Brow Lamination Last?
With proper care post-lamination, your brows should hold their lamination for around 6 weeks. A tint may fade a bit sooner, lasting 4-5 weeks.

When Should You Get Your Brows Laminated Before an Event?

Getting your brows laminated and tinted before an event is a great way to make sure your brows are looking exactly how you want for any special occasions you have coming up.

While your lamination lasts 6 weeks, there’s likely a sweet spot where you think your brows look the best throughout that time. I recommend getting your brows tinted and laminated about one week before an event. This will allow any potential side effects, such as redness or irritation, to subside before your event.

Brow tinting will also go on very bold and fade to a more natural look within 2 days, allowing the perfect amount of time for your brows to set.

Aftercare For Eyebrow Lamination

Maximizing the lifespan of your lamination is dependent on taking the proper steps to care for your brows post-lamination.

For 24-hours following your treatment, I recommend avoiding washing your face and touching your eyebrows. At the end of the lamination, a glaze is applied to the brows that should not be washed off or touched for at least 24-hours to ensure your best results. I recommend avoiding activities where your face might become wet, such as exercising or anything involving moisture or steam.

48-hours post-lamination, I recommend applying castor oil or another lash serum {approved by your specialist - yes, it’s me Nancy} directly to the hairs of the eyebrows. Additionally, I recommend brushing them and shaping them while they are wet. A spoolie and brow soap can be used to brush the hairs up and into shape, allowing them to set for the rest of the day!
