My Top Winter Skincare Products

I can’t believe I’m saying it, but winter is almost here {& YES the temps are finally starting to drop in AZ}!

While you know I love the holiday season, Winter comes with a slew of skin concerns, from dryness to irritation and *everything* in between. Today I’m sharing my top winter skincare products that will help you {and your skin} enjoy the season, without worrying about how the cold weather might be drying out your skin.

Common Skin Concerns For Winter

Between the colder air, dry indoor heat and harsh winter winds, it’s no wonder many of us face an array of skin flare ups throughout the winter months. Some of the most common skin concerns I hear from my clients when the weather starts to dip are dry patches, flakiness, chapped lips, and redness. Combatting irritated and extremely dry skin can be difficult, especially when it seems like there’s no reprieve from the chilly air for a few months in a row.

However, with the right products and care, it *can* be possible to make it through the winter months with hydrated and soothed skin.

Skincare Masks For Winter

If you’re looking for a way to supercharge your skincare this winter, look no further than applying a face mask. Masks work by allowing ingredients to absorb deep into your skin. How? The mask helps to trap valuable hydrating and other effective ingredients on the surface of your skin.

Valuable skincare ingredients will be able to penetrate your skin and leave noticeable results after just one use thanks to the magic of masks!

Milk Mask by Rhonda Allison

My go-to mask for the Winter season is Rhonda Allison’s Milk Mask. It works hard to soothe any irritation on your skin using the healing support provided by vitamin E. Milk proteins in this mask will provide nourishment to dry, flaky skin, restoring valuable nutrients and promoting skin hydration.

This mask is the perfect addition to your weekly skincare routine. After thoroughly cleansing the skin, apply a thin layer of the mask to the face and neck. I recommend applying your mask with a mask brush applicator to help eliminate bacteria. Bonus: Not only does it add a layer of *luxury* but using a mask brush will help SAVE on the product + make the application process seamless. A win, win!

Leave on for 15 to 30 minutes {you can even leave it on overnight for added nourishment}. Adding this into your weekly routine will help your skin to stay soothed and hydrated, no matter how harsh the winter weather gets.

Serums For Winter

Serums work wonders year round due to their quick absorbing properties and their ability to soothe and nourish even the most sensitive skin. Adding one {or a few} serum(s) into your skincare routine can be an excellent way to add in hydrating and nourishing ingredients when your skin needs them most. IE, Winter!

Vital Repair Gel by Rhonda Allison

You will actually *never* find me without this product – in any season. This serum is gel based, which allows it to absorb into the skin quickly {which means its calming benefits work quicker than cream based products}.

In the winter months, colder temperatures, wind, and dry air may leave your skin feeling irritated and damaged. The plant-based epidermal growth factors in this serum increase healing of the skin, while licorice root soothes and alleviates any inflammation or irritation on the skin. It provides vital hydrating benefits to the skin, while acting as a protector from damage caused by free radicals.

This gel is gentle enough to add into your daily skincare routine: massage it into skin post-cleanse, and before applying any thicker moisturizers or creams, for best results. I promise you will love it!

Hydration Products For Winter

The importance of keeping your skin hydrated all throughout the winter months cannot be understated. Not only are the cold conditions outside going to dry you out, but the increased heat inside your home to combat the chilly weather also sucks the moisture right out of your skin.

There are plenty of products I recommend reaching for when it comes to moisturizing and combatting dry, flaky skin, but below are the best of the best when it comes to the extra hydration we all need more of in the winter.

Ultra Hydration Cream by Rhonda Allison

When it comes to extreme hydration, hyaluronic acid is a superpower ingredient, which is known to bind up to 6,000 times its weight in water. This rich cream contains the purest and most potent form of hyaluronic acid: L-Sodium Hyaluronate and Cassia Betaglycan.

These pure and potent hydratons increase moisture content by 300%, allowing your skin to reap the full benefits of hydration from this cream. This cream works well as the final step before makeup in your AM skincare routine, ensuring your skin won’t look dry or flaky throughout the day. It's also perfect as a nightly moisturizing cream to apply at the end of your skincare routine.

Pure Hydration by Rhonda Allison

If you don’t love the feeling of a heavy cream on your face, I recommend this hyaluronic acid-powered Pure Hydration serum. This serum is light and will absorb into your skin easily, allowing the water retention benefits of hyaluronic acid to work fast in providing hydration and keeping the skin supple.

Apply to your skin after cleansing, and follow up with any heavier creams and moisturizers before applying any sunscreen and makeup, and you’ll ensure noticeably supple and hydrated skin for the entirety of the day.

Hydra Soothe Spritz by Rhonda Allison

If you need something quick and easy to add to your routine, maybe even something you can take on the go, look no further than this versatile face and body spray. This cucumber spritz is all natural, and one spritz of this on your face is like giving your skin a tall glass of water.

Moisture binding ingredients in this spritz freshen and revitalize the skin, whole heavy water combined with other humectants provide the skin with much needed moisture content that is lost throughout the day, especially in the winter. This can be applied over makeup for a mid-day refresh or to hydrate chapped skin after spending too much time outdoors. This spray can also work well to hydrate dry, chapped hands, or anywhere else you may experience flaky or dry skin throughout the winter months.

Whish Beauty Lip Mask with Bakuchiol

The cold & dry winter air can also take a toll on your lips! To avoid chapped {& irritated} lips, I recommend applying the Whish Beauty Lip Mask with Bakuchiol in the PM before heading to bed. Formulated with shea butter, sunflower seed oil, and coconut oil, this incredible mask melts deep into your lips as you sleep, providing long lasting, intense moisturization. The effects? Dewy soft goodness - perfect for that red winter lip!
