How To Reboot Your Energy This Fall

Although the temperatures in Arizona might not feel like Fall just yet, the season is here! Fall is a season of change and new beginnings. School is back in session. Schedules are filling up. The leaves are falling. The sun is setting earlier in the day. Although the change is positive, our energy can shift with the season in a way that does not serve us. With shorter days and the hustle and bustle of the holiday season right around the corner, there can be a lack of motivation and energy. Instead of “just needing to get through the end of the year”, we’re helping you find your “Fall reboot” to refocus your energy and gear up for the months ahead, without experiencing a sense of burnout.

Reassess Your Energy Levels

Start by checking in with yourself. How is your energy level throughout the day? Do you stare at the clock with heavy eyes? Are you feeling drained by your day-to-day responsibilities and schedule? It may be time to fill your own cup and reassess what’s pulling at your energy stores. Go down the checklist of the items that bring you positive energy:

  • Are you getting enough sleep every night? If not, start with small increments of getting to an earlier bedtime. Whether that's going to bed 5-15 minutes earlier, it’s progress towards more restorative sleep!

  • How is your diet? Are you making time to go to the grocery store and prepare healthy meals? You are what you eat!😉 Your body and mind cannot run sufficiently without the proper nutrition. Pick one or two days per week to make time for a grocery run and fill your fridge with the proper nutrition.

  • Are you taking all of your necessary vitamins and supplements? According to the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, up to 20% of adults have a vitamin B12 deficiency. This deficiency can have an effect on our hormones, mental health, and energy levels. Ask your doctor about the type of vitamins to add to your regime.

Stay Hydrated From The Inside Out

This is your reminder to take a sip of water + give yourself a spritz! If you’re a long-time client of Gameela Skin, you know we preach hydration for your skin and body. Hydrating our bodies from the inside out is key to keeping our bodies {and minds} nourished. A few of our favorite ways to keep our bodies and skin hydrated:

  • We carry an insulated water bottle with us wherever we go. It’s easy to reuse + fill up. Plus, it keeps our water cold all day long. If you always have something to grab, it’s easier to stay hydrated.

  • Try adding in an herbal tea or drink with electrolytes. Sometimes drinking water can be challenging, so something with taste can help.

  • Fruit + veggies can also help you stay hydrated! Watermelon, berries, cucumbers. Etc. Pack yourself a to-go container while you’re on the go or at work.

  • Lastly, for extra skin hydration, we always recommend Rhonda Allison’s Hydra Soothe Spritz. Use it in your skincare routine or just throughout the day to give yourself an extra boost of hydration. For those who sit in front of a computer for long hours, this product is for you!

How To Improve Your Energy

Practice Self Care

You know we love #SelfCareSundays but in all reality, we should {intentionally} be practicing self care daily. By definition, self care is exactly as it sounds. It means taking care of yourself first so that you can be energized and healthy to do things like your job and helping others. A few of the ways we practice self care:

  • Exercising! Exercise in general {and sweating} gives us endorphins and provides our body with more energy. A few of my favorite ways to get exercise: Peloton Tread classes, going on walks around the neighborhood with my dogs, and strength training. With the Fall weather coming around, we’ll be able to get outside more and go on some hikes as well!

  • Stretch! Stretching causes increased blood and nutrient flow throughout the body which helps rejuvenate our energy levels. Yoga is a great way to achieve these benefits!

  • Schedule time for yourself! Whether it be a massage, time to get outside, or a skin or beauty treatment - time away from the chaos of life is necessary. I always walk away feeling refreshed and revitalized after time for myself.

Take Care of Your Skin

While practicing all of the steps above should naturally leave your skin and body feeling more vibrant, sometimes your skin needs a little extra love.

Whether it be tired eyes or dull/irritated skin, we have some recommendations that you can carry with you through the Fall season {and every season} of life:

  • Always, always, always stay consistent with your skincare routine. This is the best way to minimize any skin irritation. You can read more on the importance of a skincare routine here.

  • We recommend keeping a few products in your medicine cabinet for long nights and early mornings to combat tired eyes.

    • For evenings, try applying Rhonda Allison’s Peptide 3-N-1 Eye Cream. This blend will reduce puffy eyes, brighten tired, dull tissue, and minimize fine lines while giving eyes a boost of moisture.

    • To really lift your skin’s spirits use the Bubbly Eye Gels by Patchology. Formulated with Orange Extract, Resveratrol (from grapes!), and Niacinamide, anti-aging, and brightening product for early mornings

  • Lastly, schedule a monthly or bi-monthly facial treatment. The Fall months tend to be drier {which can be harsh for the skin}. A facial can help combat dry weather by giving your skin the extra moisture it needs! Our customized facial treatments use a variety of products, massage techniques, hot steam, and equipment that will leave your skin fresh and hydrated.
