There are a number of ways to groom your brows these days and give them that full, dramatic look. From microblading, to the classic eyebrow pencil, to the latest and greatest - eyebrow lamination. Brow lamination is nothing new, but the treatment has recently made its way back into the beauty industry.

What is Brow Lamination?

Eyebrow lamination is the latest secret to effortless, full and glossy brows. It doesn’t really matter what your eyebrow concern is (thinning, over-plucked, already thick, etc.) brow laminating is the perfect solution to give you the look you want. Brow lamination is similar to getting a perm as the treatment will give your brows a set and uniform look for about six to eight weeks. However, instead of the typical curls you think of when getting a perm - we use a setting lotion that gives the brow hair a semi-permanent “brushed up” and lifted look.

The best part of getting your brows laminated? It can give you the brows you want in about an hour's time.

What is the Brow Lamination Process?

Our brow lamination treatment at Gameela Skin has three simple steps.

  • Step 1: We’ll start off by waxing and shaping your existing brows. Following, a skin barrier cream will be applied to the brow area to protect the freshly waxed skin from the solutions used during your treatment. Then, the permanent gel (the first solution) will be applied to erase the chemical (or natural) structure of the eyebrow hairs. After application, a strip of seran wrap will be placed over the brow hairs allowing the solution to sit.

  • Step 2: After removing the permanent gel, we’ll move to the second step of applying the neutralizing cream (the second solution). The job of the neutralizing cream is to both set the new direction of the hair and repair the bonds that were broken during step one. This is the step where we will actually shape (or laminate) the eyebrow hair to look how we want for the finishing result. After applying the cream, another layer of seran wrap will be placed over the brows. It’s important to note that if a client also wishes to add an eyebrow tint onto their service, it would be completed after this step.

  • Step 3: The third and final step of the lamination process involves applying the regenerating cream to help replenish the moisture that was lost during your treatment. This cream will leave your brows with a glaze that will need to stay for about 24 hours. After this 24 hour time period, the cream can be washed off with a gentle face cleanser.

How Long Does Brow Lamination Last?

Your laminated brows should last for about 8 weeks. However, it’s important to note that the longevity of your new semi-permanent eyebrow perm can be affected based on how well you follow the aftercare instructions.

For the first 24 hours following your treatment, we recommend avoiding any and all moisture, heat, steam (stay away from those cooktops), and sweating. For all of our stomach sleepers, it’s also best to avoid sleeping directly on your brows as we don’t want anything to touch the hairs.

48 hours after your treatment, you may apply castor oil (or another hydrating balm) to your brows daily.

Is Brow Lamination Bad for your Eyebrows?

No - eyebrow lamination will not harm your eyebrows. As long as you receive your treatment with a licensed professional, such as our esthetician at Gameela Skin, you can assure your brows will return to their normal structure in the usual 6-8 week period.

It’s also important to remember that everyone has a different skin type. While the chemicals used during the treatment are safe for your skin - it’s possible your skin will have a light irritation when exposed to them. At Gameela Skin, we do apply a barrier cream prior to using the brow lamination solutions to avoid any and all irritations.

If you do notice any unusual redness following your appointment, please do not hesitate to reach out to our esthetician for guidance.

How Much Does Brow Lamination Cost

The cost of brow lamination can vary depending on where you receive your treatment. At Gameela Skin our lamination treatment begins at $80 which includes waxing and the lamination. You can upgrade your service to add a brow tint for an additional $25 - we highly recommend doing so to really give your brows that full dramatic look. To make an appointment online you can do so, here. Or to inquire if a brow lamination is right for you please reach out to our esthetician by emailing info@gameelaskin.com
